Bad news - No money and getting a business loan seems to be a constant fruitless loop. Are you an existing business? No – Goodbye. If we get beyond that: What was your turnover last year? We haven’t started trading yet – Goodbye. I can get a loan to buy a big car or book a hopeful holiday in 2021, but not, it seems, borrow for a new business.

Moping about for a month, then an internet search turns up the start-up loan company. We tried again. A few tweaks to the business plan and few new crunches of numbers and amazingly we get the loan!

Off to the estate agents for a genial look around, trying to stay aloof and blasé… it all seemed so.. perfect – we were in LOVE!

Plans, more plans.. check the spreadsheets, check the numbers – had we missed something, could we really do it? Maybe we could, the agent said it was simply a case of taking on the existing lease, it would be plain sailing – we’ll be in by October we thought, maybe earlier – build up a head of steam into Christmas!

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha…..Ha!
