We lost the keys…

If working non-stop trying to open a bookshop in 12 days wasn’t enough of a challenge, for some reason only the gods can answer we couldn’t get into our shop this afternoon!! Our extra secure five lever mortis lock decided to take against us and refused to budge. Five hours later and £500 poorer a gallant and determined locksmith gained entry and fitted a new lock… So, that’s five hours of precious work time lost, but maybe, if we try really, really, really hard we can think ourselves lucky the lock didn’t break on our opening morning. It might have been the final straw, which would see me thrashing the door with a branch screaming “Open, open, open you *&@£!!!!!!

So with new locks fitted - sort of, theres still a bit of carpentry work to do, we hope that’s our last hiccup. The previous one was our boiler not working resulting in no heating, but at least we had access to our shop to whinge about that one.

Now, with three days left until we open we have to be fairly pleased with progress so far. The shop is starting to look like it could be a bookshop…

The beginning of a bookshop…

The beginning of a bookshop…
